Beginner Driving Lessons in North Dakota
Accepting All Beginner Drivers
It’s normal to feel nervous when your child first takes the wheel. That’s why 1st Geer Driving School’s beginner lessons are such a great investment. We will turn any teenager into a responsible driver, and help keep them (and everyone else on the road) safe. Better yet, you will rest assured that your child has the skills they need to responsibly navigate North Dakota’s often unpredictable roadways.

Don’t stress about learning how to drive. We make it convenient and accessible!
Anyone who holds a North Dakota Learner’s Permit is eligible for 1st Geer Driving School’s beginner lessons. We typically drive with students once they have held their permit for 6–9 months. Our beginner’s program includes six hours of one-on-one training. Once the one-on-one training is complete, the student may take their driver’s license test with us via the road test waiver program or with the state of North Dakota.

We train youths to become confident and competent drivers. You will sleep easier at night knowing that your child has learned how to operate a vehicle responsibly, as well as all the basic skills they need to safely navigate the road. Here are just some of the fundamental driving skills we teach:
- Changing lanes safely
- Driving in a straight line
- Navigating roundabouts
- Driving on a one-way street
- Making correct right and left turns
- Driving on the right side of the road
- Navigating uncontrolled intersections
- Parking on hills, at angles and parallel
- Driving on the interstate and gravel roads
- Paying attention at intersections and crosswalks
